Who we are

This website is operated by Bourne Decorators (Hampshire) Limited, trading as Bourne Decorators, of Mill Lane, Passfield, Liphook, GU30 7QU. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 14259476. For anything in this notice you can reach us on 07957 862228 or at bournedecorators1@sky.com. We are the data controller for the information described below.

What the quote form collects

There are two quote forms on this site. The short callback form asks for three things: your name, your phone number and your email address. The full quote form asks for those three plus the service you are interested in, your town or postcode, and anything you want to tell us about the job. The full form also records which page you were on when you sent it, so we know what you were looking at.

That is the whole list. We do not ask for payment details and we do not ask for a date of birth. The only analytics on this site is optional, runs solely if you accept it, and is described in full on the cookies and tracking page.

Why we need it, and the lawful basis

We use your details for one purpose: to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit if you want one, and give you a quote. Your phone number and email address are how we get back to you. Your town or postcode tells us whether the job is inside the area we cover and how far the travel is. Your description of the job is what we price.

Our lawful basis under the UK GDPR is Article 6(1)(b), taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where an enquiry does not lead to any work, we rely on Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in keeping a short record of who contacted us and what about. We do not send marketing emails, newsletters or promotional texts, so no consent is collected for them and none is needed.

Where it is stored, and who sees it

When you submit a form, your details are handled by two suppliers acting as our processors. They are stored in a database hosted by Supabase, and a notification email is sent to us using Resend, an email delivery service. Resend also sends you a short confirmation that we have your enquiry. Both of them process the data on our instructions only, and neither uses it for their own purposes.

Inside the business, your details are seen by the person who deals with quotes. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with other tradespeople or lead generation companies, and we do not pass it to anyone else unless the law requires it.

Our suppliers may process or back up data outside the UK. Where that happens it is covered by the safeguards those providers have in place for international transfers, such as the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not turn into a job, we keep it for up to two years and then delete it. That gives us time to pick up a conversation you come back to, without holding details indefinitely for no reason.

If we do carry out work for you, the enquiry becomes part of the job record. We keep those for six years after the work finishes, which is the period we may need them for tax records and for any question about the work itself. You can ask us to delete an enquiry sooner, and we will unless we are legally required to keep it.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising tracking. Optional analytics (Google Analytics, plus a first-party record of the same events) runs only if you accept it on the cookie banner: nothing loads and no identifier is created before you answer, declining changes nothing about how the site works, and you can withdraw at any time using the cookie preferences link in the footer. Analytics data is kept for 14 months and your name, contact details and messages are never sent to it. The cookies and tracking page lists every cookie and event precisely. Analytics processing relies on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)); the anonymised running page tally described there involves no cookie and no identifier and relies on legitimate interests. Google Ireland Ltd processes the Google Analytics data on our behalf; Silver Spider Media Ltd operates the first-party analytics store.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy of it. You can ask us to correct anything that is wrong, to delete it, to restrict what we do with it, or to send it to you or another provider in a portable format. You can object to us processing it where we are relying on legitimate interests.

Ask by phone or email using the contact details above and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

Changes to this notice

If we change how the forms work or which suppliers handle the data, we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.
