A family run decorating firm, trading since 1982
Bourne Decorators is based in Passfield, near Liphook, and has been decorating homes and businesses across Surrey and Hampshire for more than four decades.
Two lifelong friends, then a family
A network of friendships within a client base
Bourne Decorators was started by two lifelong friends in 1982 and has grown steadily ever since, building a client base across Guildford, Farnham, Winchester, Alton and the Surrey and Hampshire villages between them. A good number of those customers have now had us back a dozen times.
Jim has been in the painting, spraying and decorating trade since he was fifteen and in business since 1982. He holds City & Guilds up to Level 3 in Advanced Crafts, and is certified to teach in the classroom as well as on site, having spent two years teaching decorating students at Guildford College.
His son Richie trained at Guildford College too, is fully qualified and is now part of the business, so the intention is to keep Bourne Decorators family run for the next generation. Between them the firm covers the traditional decorating trades and modern spray finishing, which is why a kitchen respray and a full house repaint can come from the same team.
The approach has not changed much in forty years: prepare properly, protect the house you are working in, and check the job before calling it finished.

Four things we do on every job

Preparation before paint
Every job starts with proper prep, not a quick coat over the problem. Filling, sanding, keying old paintwork, and covering everything that is staying put.

Tidy, respectful work
Dust sheets down, surfaces covered, and a clean site at the end of every day, because it is your home while we are in it.

Honest, free quotes
A visit, a conversation and a written quote. No pressure to commit and no charge for looking at the job.

Finished, not just done
A final walk round every room, and all rubbish collected and taken away rather than left filling your bins.
The trade paints we work with include Dulux, Crown, Johnstone's, Ronseal, Cuprinol, Edward Bulmer. These are the materials we buy and use, not endorsements, sponsorships or accreditations.
